Building Impact: Our Past Projects

  • Home Repaired

Rebuilding Together East Bay Network, in partnership with Girls Garage, recently completed essential repairs and utility upgrades for a local home, including restoring critical systems and electrifying the utilities. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to empowering communities through hands-on service, skill-building, and lasting impact.

  • Students Build ADU

Big Skills students build Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) as part of their hands-on learning experience, gaining real-world construction skills while contributing to affordable housing solutions. These student-built ADUs are then placed in local communities, showcasing the power of youth, craftsmanship, and community impact.

  • Home Electrified

Rebuilding Together East Bay Network electrifies homes by upgrading outdated systems to all-electric power, improving energy efficiency, safety, and long-term sustainability. These upgrades help create healthier living environments for low-income homeowners while supporting California’s clean energy goals.

  • ADU Placed

The Big Skills Program of Rebuilding Together East Bay Network successfully placed a completed accessory dwelling unit (ADU) at a home in Berkeley. This project provided hands-on construction experience for youth while creating much-needed housing in the community.

  • Resiliency Hub opens

Resiliency Hubs are community-serving facilities equipped to support residents during emergencies and disasters. At RTEBN, we collaborate with local partners to retrofit and enhance these spaces—often trusted neighborhood institutions—so they can provide shelter, power, clean air, and vital resources when they’re needed most. These hubs also serve the community year-round with services that promote safety, equity, and resilience.

  • Christmas in April

Christmas in April is RTEBN’s signature annual event where volunteers, neighbors, and partners come together to provide critical home repairs for low-income homeowners—often seniors, veterans, and families with disabilities. Held each spring, this day of service reflects the spirit of giving year-round, bringing warmth, safety, and dignity to homes across the East Bay.

  • Richmond Senior Safe Homes Initiative

A multi-year effort providing critical repairs and accessibility upgrades to over 50 senior households, allowing older adults to safely age in place.

  • RTEBN Community Garden

The RTEBN Community Garden is a shared green space where neighbors come together to grow fresh produce, build community, and learn about sustainable living. It’s a living example of how RTEBN supports healthy, connected, and resilient neighborhoods beyond just home repairs.
